Students offer praise, criticism at session with chancellor

UIC Chancellor Michael Amiridis listened to criticism and addressed concerns for more than two hours Thursday in a “Dialogue with Students” session.

President, chancellor plan town hall on strategic planning

A town hall meeting will be held on campus Nov. 30 with Chancellor Michael Amiridis and President Timothy Killeen to discuss University of Illinois priorities for the next five years. The next day, Amiridis and Killeen will be available to talk about the strategic planning process with campus community members in a smaller group setting. Read more…

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

The University of Illinois is engaged in a strategic planning initiative, and town hall meetings have been scheduled at each of the three campuses to provide the university community an opportunity to join the discussion to determine university-wide priorities for the next five years.

After final exams, UIC holds first December graduation

The day after she finishes her final exams in three weeks, Yesenia Navarrete will proudly walk onstage to celebrate her graduation as one of the first UIC students to participate in December commencement.

“It’s going to seem more real, graduating literally the day after I finish my last final,” said Navarrete, a senior in psychology. Read more…


Leaders support financial aid for undocumented students

UIC students, employees and Chicago community members marched through campus last week to walk in the shoes of undocumented students for an afternoon.

Participants in the student-led walk chanted “A-C-C-E-S-S- access, access for student success,” to support the Student Access to College and Career Education for Statewide Success (ACCESS) Bill. Read more…
