Campus Message 02.09.16

Dear Faculty and Staff,

In the coming weeks, UIC will be participating in a University of Illinois online training program on issues of discrimination and sexual violence. This program is designed to reinforce the culture of respectful, consensual relationships across all of our campuses.

This online course is mandatory for all employees of the university except for our undergraduate student workers and graduate/professional students who may also be employees. This very important training is also strongly encouraged for all graduate and professional students regardless of employment.

This program fulfills state and federal requirements regarding education about domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, and provides information on protections, resources and services available to survivors.

Details on how to complete the online training will be forthcoming. Please devote the time necessary to get the most out of this valuable educational opportunity.

The University of Illinois at Chicago has long been a place of learning, teaching and research that seeks to extend the boundaries of human understanding. In order to reach our full potential, we must ensure that our campus is a place of safety and security for all students, faculty, staff and guests.

Together we can realize our vision of a respectful campus committed to the discovery of new knowledge.

Thank you,

Michael D. Amiridis
Chancellor
