Introduction
UIC’s mission is to provide the broadest access to the highest levels of educational, research, and clinical excellence. We share a belief that access and excellence belong together, and can be delivered at scale. Our shared commitment to access, vitality, empowerment, and creativity is our collective superpower.
To support our mission, UIC is guided by five strategic priorities and two foundational efforts introduced by Chancellor Miranda. These priorities reaffirm UIC’s commitment to student success; transform educational programs to meet evolving student, workforce, and societal needs; expand the research profile to position the university at the forefront of innovation and Chicago’s knowledge economy; advance integrated health education, research, and clinical care; and strengthen partnerships with communities, businesses, nonprofits, government, and civic leaders.
The two foundational efforts support progress across all five priorities. They focus on building and sustaining a strong faculty and staff, and on implementing a data and analytics strategy to guide decisions, improve outcomes, and support collaboration and transparency.
Collectively, these priorities and foundational efforts are advancing the university’s equity-focused mission to provide the broadest access to the highest levels of educational, research, and clinical excellence.
