Omar Odeh shapes strategic narratives from the Office of the Chancellor for audiences across the campus and beyond. He collaborates with the chancellor, provost, and colleagues throughout the university to elevate institutional priorities and communicate the chancellor's vision and strategy to internal and external stakeholders across multiple platforms.
Omar is a seasoned communications professional with deep experience in marketing, communications, business development, and strategic positioning. He brings a global perspective to higher education, having served as chief communications officer at the American University of Beirut, Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, and Georgia College & State University. He also held senior market research and business intelligence roles in the private sector with Hewlett-Packard and Alcatel-Lucent.
Omar earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the American University in Cairo and a master's degree in international transactions from George Mason University. He completed all doctoral coursework toward a PhD in foreign affairs at the University of Virginia.
