Since 1973, the Chancellor’s Student Service and Leadership Awards (CSSLA) ceremony has recognized outstanding student leaders and student volunteers who, while maintaining high academic achievement, demonstrate a commitment to the UIC community through participation in student organizations and campus activities and throughout the greater Chicagoland area through active service and community engagement.
Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award Heading link
The Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence Award (CAPE Award) was established to recognize the demonstrated excellence of academic professional staff members and affirms the university’s highest regard for the contributions of this important community to UIC. The award provides a $1,000 permanent increase to the honoree’s salary and a $2,500 one-time cash award. Nominations for this award are welcomed from UIC faculty, students, academic professionals, and support staff.
Chancellor's Fellows Award Heading link
The Chancellor’s Fellows Award is a scholarship for high achieving Illinois residents. The award is valued at $7,500 a year and may be renewed for a total of eight consecutive, full-time fall and spring semesters. Recipients can find the specific value of their award on their financial aid notification letters, which are distributed beginning in early March.
