Chair Chats with Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski

Mike Krzyzewski, coach of Duke University’s men’s basketball team from 1980 to 2022, is a master innovator of teams. Coach K’s practice of mapping out a game plan for success on and off the court has made him one of the most accomplished basketball coaches in history, with a track record that includes the most NCAA Division I victories (1,202), most Final Fours (13; five NCAA Championships, second all-time) and most Olympic gold medals as head coach (in 2008, 2012 and 2016). Coach K also is the author of two New York Times bestsellers, a Naismith Hall of Famer, co-founder of the Coach K Center on Leadership and Ethics and a professor of leadership practice at Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. He’s from Chicago and grew up in Ukrainian Village before joining the U.S. Army. For this edition of Chair Chats, Coach K joins Chancellor Marie Lynn Miranda to share lessons of leadership and success.
